Deep Dish Vegetable Pizza

Every kid loves pizza! We’ve crafted a vegetable pizza recipe to try at home with your kids! While it may get messy in the kitchen, it is a load of fun!

DEEP DISH VEGETABLE PIZZA

Yields: 16 slices

2                                        Pizza Dough Shells

2 cups                              Tomato sauce

1 tbsp                               Fresh garlic, chopped

⅔ tbsp.                            Oregano

⅔ tbsp.                            Basil

1 tbsp                               Oil

5                                        Onions, sliced

5⅓ cups                           Mushrooms, sliced

⅓ tbsp.                            Pepper, ground

2 lbs                                  Broccoli pieces

2 lbs                                  Partly skimmed mozzarella cheese, grated

  1. In a large bowl, combine tomato sauce, garlic and spices. Stir into mix
  2. Heat oil in skillet; add onions and cook until tender (about 5 minutes)
  3. Add mushrooms and continue to cook over medium heat. Sprinkle with pepper.
  4. Steam broccoli and set aside
  5. Spread tomato sauce evenly over pizza dough. Cover with broccoli, mushrooms and onions. Top with grated cheese.

Bake at 425°F for 30 to 40 minutes until crust is brown and cheese is bubbly
